2FM presenter Ruth Scott has admitted she is “on a high” after getting engaged on New Year’s Eve.
The radio star had been dating Rob Morgan, son of the late Father Ted star Dermot Morgan, for four years before he proposed with a custom made ring.
“I feel like I’m going around on a high, I’m just delighted,” she said.

“It was very romantic. He is a very romantic guy. He really is. It’s not necessarily grand gestures, he is just really thoughtful and kind.
“I think it is a great mark of a man when he is there in the bad times, as well as the good times. He is a real solid influence. We have great craic,” she told the Sun.
“He is so funny. I’m just so lucky I met someone and we are on the same wavelength.”
The 2FM Weekender show host revealed they had talked about getting married but wasn’t expecting a proposal over the festive season.

“I’m with him over four years and the topic came up from time to time. We’d had the discussion about would we,” she admitted.
“We knew we were on the same page. I didn’t expect it on New Year’s Eve. I was never in a rush, god if I was in a rush I’d be married about 15 years ago.”
Although she only just got engaged, the presenter admitted she hasn’t set a date yet but 2017 is looking promising.
“We haven’t set a date but it’ll be sometime in 2017,” she added.
