Looks of the year

2015 has been a year of make-ups and break-ups but one things for sure, the style game amongst Irish starlets hasn’t faltered.

With huge events such as the IFTAs, VIP Style Awards and numerous fashion weeks around the Emerald Isle, their has been many opportunities for our favourite fashionistas to show off their style chops.

Taking a look at the year, here’s Goss.ie’s best looks over the past 12 months:

1. Darren Kennedy – VIP Style Awards

Darren Kennedy has his style down after launching his collaboration with famed tailor Louis Copeland.

Presenting this year’s VIP Style Awards, the Dubliner found the event to be the perfect platform to showcase his new designs.

Having eight incredible costume changes, our favourite look from TV presenter this year was the suit he walked the red carpet with. Our style hearts melted when his pet pooch, Harry, rocked his own bespoke tailored doggy suit to match Darren.

2. Roz Purcell – Milan Fashion Week

Model Roz Purcell can never do wrong in our fashion opinion.

Showing off her enviable style this year, Goss HQ loved her outfit from Milan fashion week.

With her skirt from famed designer Natalie B Coleman, we loved how she teamed her high end with high street with a H&M blazer and Topshop boots.

The brunette beauty then accessorised her And other Stories bag and belt with her Dior sunnies – sheer style perfection.

Adding to her designer outfit, the blonde bombshell wore Jimmy Choo shoes to host the 15th Annual ISPCC lunch. Absolute style swoon!

Model-turned-blogger Pippa O’Connor has had a whirlwind year and it all started when winning the Most Stylish Woman at the Peter Mark VIP Style Awards earlier this year.

When you think of 2015 style, one thing comes to mind and that’s Stephanie Roche’s beautiful dress from the Ballon d’Or.

Up for the coveted FIFA Puskas award at the world renowned event, the footballer made her fashion mark with this breath-taking Helen Cody dress.

Made especially for her, Irish designer Helen insisted she would not be making a replica of the dusty pink mini dress. Going from pitch to couture, Stephanie sure changed the game with this outfit this year.

6. Conor McGregor  – TV Promo

Looking back at 2015, there’s one man that truly stands out for his trash-talk, sportsmanship and style, Conor McGregor.

Although celebrating his recent UFC Featherweight Title, the sports star is always first for fashion and has become a trailblazer amongst men’s fashion.

Getting everyone aboard his style train, Conor has caused a fashion renaissance for Irish men in the way the now dress – hello three piece suits?

It’s difficult to choose just one look we loved this year but after winning the interim title against Chad Mendes we applauded his navy checked David August suit.

Actress Sarah Greene had us holding our breath for her fashion on the IFTAs red carpet this year and she didn’t disappoint.

After attending the MET Ball with Vogue Editor-in-chief Anna Wintour, the Cork beauty simply stunned at the Film and Drama awards with an eye-popping canary yellow midi dress by Helen Cody.

The short but beautiful outfit just projected fun with the feather detail and has us in awe while Goss.ie reported from the red carpet.

Aside from fun, her dress seemed to bring the starlet luck as she picked up two awards at the bash.

11. Rosanna Davison – TV IFTAs

2015 has been the year of taking risks and we digged this daring outfit from Rosanna Davison late this year.

The former Miss World took to the IFTAs TV event in sheer black dress from Coco boutique – bringing some sex appeal to the event as you could see her black underwear.

Putting sex appeal to the side, Goss.ie loved how Rosanna upped everyone’s style stakes on the red carpet by remaining demure.

12. Ronan And Storm Keating – their wedding

We couldn’t do a best looks of 2015 without looking at one of the biggest showbiz weddings of the year.

Saying ‘I do’ in Scotland, Storm and Ronan Keating channelled glamour at their nuptials in August.

Wearing a bespoke Chantilly lace dress embroidered with silk and organza petals, by Australian designer Steven Khalil, Storm looked simple stylish on her big day.

Like we’ve mentioned above, it’s been a big year for Irish sport and there’s no bigger event on the golfing calendar than the Masters.

One Direction star Niall Horan took to the sports competition to caddy for best friend Rory McIlroy and rocked the white boiler suit.

However, it seemed the outfit brought a bout of bad luck for the Mullingar man when he fell over on live TV whilst carrying the Irish golfer’s bag.

Wearing a full-length white gown with black waist detailing from the Ivory Closet, the writer was breath taking at the bash.

17. Roz Purcell and Daniella Moyles – VIP Style Awards

Last but not least we couldn’t not put this co-ordinated look from Roz Purcell and Daniella Moyles in.

Although they didn’t mean to match, the friends were the perfect pair complimenting each other in different metallic outfits.

Showing off their incredible figures, Roz wore her own creation by Scribe London whilst Daniella rocked Catriona Hanly at the VIP Style Awards.

This is what style friendships are made of!
