What has happened to concert etiquette?

Attending a live concert is one of the most thrilling experiences for music lovers.

The energy, the atmosphere, and the shared connection with the artist and fellow fans create an unforgettable experience.

However, to ensure that everyone can enjoy the event to the fullest, concert etiquette plays a vital role.

Concert Etiquette

Whether you’re a seasoned concert-goer or a first-timer, understanding the unwritten rules can make the show more enjoyable for everyone involved.

However, lately fans have experienced a lack of concert etiquette at concerts, with fans taking to TikTok to express their concern.

One user, @h0llylewis took to TikTok to share her experience at Gracie Abrams latest concert in the 3arena.

@h0llylewis Like this is not NORMALLLLLLLLL 😭😭😭😭 #concerts #concertetiquette #concertpit #concertstanding #gracieabrams #noahkahan #electricpicnic #rant #concertoutfit #concertcheck ♬ original sound – holly

What was meant to be a very chill, almost somber experience considering Gracie Abrams songs, many fans experienced aggressive behaviour from people attending.

Holly said: “[These girls] had each other by the arms flinging each other into other people, and everyone was like can you stop, they also threw their whole double vodka in the air and saturated everyone behind them.”

Many fans agreed with Holly, sharing their own experiences in the comments, one wrote: “Gracie last night I was being shoved around and falling into people in front of me I had to leave after queuing for two hours and ended up having a panic attack, people r feral.”

Another wrote: “DO NOT JUMP AND DANCE ABOUT UNLESS YOU HAVE ROOM TO DO THAT. see if you’re in the middle it’s already claustrophobia asf just stand still if you wanna dance n your in the pit GO TO THE BACK.”

Another wrote: “the amount of time my hair was pulled last night was so unnecessary i wasn’t even jumping or moving much like and the amount of times we were even shoved before even dora came on was crazy sabrina’s.”

Concert etiquette

Concerts are a shared experience that bring together fans, artists, and music lovers in a celebration of art and creativity.

By following basic concert etiquette, you contribute to a positive atmosphere where everyone can enjoy the performance without distractions.

So, whether you’re attending a large arena show or a small, intimate gig, remember to be respectful of your fellow concert-goers, the artists, and the venue to ensure an unforgettable experience for all.
