A short film about a young Irish woman’s heartbreaking life is going viral this morning.

The video, directed by the incredible Dave Tynan, was written and performed by Emmet Kirwan, and was made to shed light on the lives of young women in Ireland.

Starring Jordanne Jones as the ‘Young One’ – the film tells the story of a girl who falls pregnant and is left to raise her child on her own, highlighting the struggle to make a better life for her and her son in Ireland.

The film, entitled Heartbreak, was adapted from a piece from the award-winning play RIOT.

Since being uploaded online last night, the video’s message has struck a chord with many as it’s been viewed almost half a million times on Facebook, and received almost 12k likes and over 9,000 shares.
