The top 10 icks when holidaying abroad – according to Irish holidaymakers

Airports and aeroplanes, while marking the beginning of a much-deserved holiday, can also uncover some unbearable travel icks.

And now, according to survey research from Betfair Casino, Ireland’s biggest annoyances have been revealed.

Delving deep into the biggest turn-offs when travelling by airplane, sitting next to someone with bad hygiene proved the most popular (34%).

Of those surveyed, 34% branded not having enough legroom as the ultimate ick in second place, while 31% chose losing luggage after a flight.

When it came to general travel icks, it appears Ireland doesn’t have the patience for waiting around, as long queues were considered the biggest annoyance.

Nearly two-thirds of respondents claimed it as being their biggest turn-off (61%), beating the likes of flight delays (45%) and being stuck on the plane when experiencing a delay (35%).

Meanwhile, survey respondents also shared their views on the most irritating things to happen whilst on holiday, with lack of air conditioning (42%) taking up nearly half of the votes.
