Searson’s on Baggot Street poke fun at Brexit by hosting special ‘UK Leaving Drinks’

They'll be serving Theresa Maytini's on the night

Award-winning pub Searson’s on Baggot Street will host the ultimate send-off for the UK next Friday (March 29th), as they wave goodbye to the EU.

From 8pm until late, guests will enjoy a live gig by The Backstop Boys, before the DJ fills the dance floor with some of the UK’s greatest hits from the likes of Bowie, Queen, Oasis, Elton, Spice Girls & Madness, Blur, The Bee Gees & Take That all night long.

The Backstop Boys are a one-off EU supergroup, formed specially for the night, featuring Joe Leech, Mark Maguire and Damian Butler from the Last Waltz and the Bootleg Beach Boys, fresh from selling out the Olympia Theatre.

Searson’s will be decked out with EU balloons, EU bunting, and large cutouts of Boris Johnson, Nigel Farage and Theresa May.

Getting into the spirit of the night, Searson’s staff will be decked out in EU blue and yellow too – including bar manager John, who won Dublin Bar Personality of the Year in the 2018 Irish Pub Awards.

Special cocktails, created for the night, include The ‘Theresa Maytini’ – a Martini with a sour twist – an ‘Old Fashioned Tory’ and ‘D.U.Pina Colada’ & more!
