People are mourning the loss of Vine in the BEST way

Vine, the six-second video app owned by Twitter, is being discontinued.

In a message on their website, Vine said, “nothing is happening to the apps, website or your Vines today”, but that the app would cease to function within the next few months.

The popular app, which was bought by Twitter before its launch in 2013, is responsible for the success of hundreds of ‘internet celebrities’ – who went by the name of ‘Viners’.

Vine also confirmed that it would be leaving its website online so that users can continue to watch old posts on the site, which had around 200 million users.

Since the news broke, people have taken to Twitter to mourn the loss of Vine, by creating a thread of their favourite/most hilarious six second clips from the app by using the hashtag #RIPVine.
