Instagram is in the middle of trialing a new feature for public profiles.
The new element will allow users to remove followers, as more people are keeping their profiles public.
The best thing about it is, the followers you remove are not notified when you take them off your followers list – so there’ll be no awkwardness.
The news comes after social media consultant, Matt Navarra, tweeted a picture of the new feature.
Instagram now lets you manually remove followers!?!

The ‘unfollow’ button can be used as an alternative to blocking users, and people are happy that they will be able to use the new feature instead of immediately blocking people.
I literally have put my account private and started blocking people to allow me to do this – this is much easier!

That’s good, I’ve been blocking certain followers up until now.

The new feature hasn’t been given a release date yet, but people are definitely excited about it appearing on their Instagram profiles.
