Q. I’ve been getting eyelash extensions for many years now and I’m noticing that my own eyelashes are becoming brittle and some are breaking off? Is there anything I can do about this or a product that can help?

When applied regularly, eyelash extensions can actually cause a lot of trauma to your own eyelashes. It can become a vicious circle where you end up with lots of eyelashes missing and you feel like you have to keep getting your eyelash extensions otherwise they can look very sparse and non-existent.

Believe me I’ve been there but this actually encouraged me to research the market for a product would help to promote healthy long and thick lashes which thankfully led me to a product range called RevitaLash.

Yes there are natural ingredients like coconut oil, lanolin and castor oil which can promote hair growth but personally I have found the most noticeable results using this RevitaLash Advanced Eyelash Conditioner, its like the Rolls Royce of lash conditioners. An easy to use serum that you can apply daily it will help to grow your lashes while its nourishing ingredients; green tea, ginseng and biotin will help to shield lashes from external irritants and keep them from breaking.

You should notice results in as little as 4-6 weeks!

RevitaLash Products are available from The Laser and Skin Clinic and online at www.skinshop.ie.

Q. I’m concerned about dark circles and puffiness under my eyes. I’ve tried lots of eye creams in the past, is there any product you would recommend?

There are so many eye products on the market but for your concerns in particular I would highly recommend Obagi ELASTIderm, which have three main eye products in their range; a cream, serum and a gel. It’s a little more on the pricey side but the quality and results are excellent.

Specifically for puffiness I would suggest the serum (Obagi ELASTIderm Eye Complete Complex), which contains active ingredient Malconic Acid that will help rebuild elasticity to alleviate bags under the eye area along with reducing puffiness. Caffeine is another fantastic ingredient present in this serum that assists in reducing the appearance of dark circles so you will get to treat both concerns with one product.

A little unknown tip is that this serum can actually be chilled for a more soothing effect (combined with the roller ball) it will assist further in reducing puffiness. So my advice is to pop it in the fridge before applying it!

Other eye products in the range include the Obagi ELASTIderm Eye Cream and ELASTIderm Eye Gel. Both are fantastic for overall anti-ageing benefits especially for tightening and firming but for puffiness and dark circles, the serum would be my product of choice.

Obagi ELASTIderm anti-ageing eye products are available from The Laser and Skin Clinic and online at www.skinshop.ie.
