Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith have revealed that they split up over four years ago.
The couple were responding to rumours that Jada, 48, had had an affair with musician August Alsina.
Jada and Will both joined each other on her Facebook show Red Table Talk, this time putting themselves in the firing line.
“I was done with you,” Will admitted, saying that the couple had separated four and a half years ago.
During their separation, the couple agreed they would try and “find a way to be happy” without each other.
“From there, as time went on, I got into a different kind of entanglement with August,” Jada revealed.
“I got into an entanglement with August,” she said. “A relationship, it was a relationship, absolutely. I was in a lot of pain, I was broken and in the process of that relationship I definitely realized that you can’t find happiness outside of yourself.
“And luckily enough, you and I were also going through a process of healing in a much different manner.”
“I just wanted to feel good,” the actress said of her relationship with August.
Although the pair both admitted that they thought their marriage was over for good, Jade added: “I’m grateful for the journey that you and I had together.”
“We have really got to that place of unconditional love,” Jade added.
“I didn’t think I would ever speak to you again,” Will admitted. “There are just certain things you have to go through.”
“We never ever thought we would make it back,” Jada added.
