Vogue Williams admits Louis Walsh rejected her when she auditioned to be in a girlband

The presenter was just a teenager at the time

Vogue Williams has admitted Louis Walsh rejected her when she auditioned to be in a girlband about 18 years ago.

The Dublin native was 16 at the time, and confessed she was an “awful” singer.

Speaking to OK! magazine, Vogue said: “I was about 16. I am such an awful, awful singer, but I always wanted to be in a band and me and my friend always auditioned for things.”

“I got through quite a few rounds, but it wasn’t enough.”

When asked whether the audition was televised, Vogue said: “No, thank God it wasn’t. I don’t think the band went anywhere.”

“I know Louis and I’ve never actually brought it up with him.”

During her interview, Vogue also admitted she’s been struggling with the fact she can’t return to Ireland – due to the coronavirus pandemic.

“I go through phases. I was really upset last week, not being able to see family, then I sort of forget it again,” she said.

“Every so often I’ll have a ‘Gah’ moment because I absolutely love home, I really miss it. I would love nothing more than to go home, but right now it’s just not possible.”

On the latest episode of #GossChats, Goss.ie CEO Ali Ryan chats with top makeup artist and influencer Keilidh Cashell about her brand new makeup range, adjusting to life in the spotlight and how she’s kept calm during the pandemic.
