New Zealand Rose Sinead Rose Stayton opens up about her anxiety on stage

New Zealand Rose Sinead Rose Stayton has opened up about her anxiety to the live audience during tonight’s Rose of Tralee.

Sinead, who’s grandparents immigrated to New Zealand from Tyrone in 1959, discussed her battle with anxiety during her interview with Daithi O’Shea.

“I have anxiety,” she confessed.

“I wanted to come and do this experience to challenge myself.”

Citing her best tip for managing anxiety, Sinead described how breathing and mindfulness are essential.

“When you’re anxious your body goes into panic mode, you breathe through your chest, but if you can identify that your body is breathing through your chest and start breathing through your stomach you can help it,” she explained.

Sinead told the audience that she had gone through counselling for two years to manage her issues.

She also jokingly told the audience that she had downed some Rescue Remedy before venturing on stage.

Finishing up her time on stage, Sinead performed a killer dance st, dancing the cha cha in a stunning backless red dress.
