Matthew McConaughey has revealed he was “molested” as a teenager, and “blackmailed” into losing his virginity at the age of 15.

The Oscar-winning actor opened up about the incidents in his explosive new memoir, Greenlights.

Matthew wrote: “I was blackmailed into having sex for the first time when I was 15. I was certain I was going to hell for the premarital sex.”

“Today, I am merely certain that I hope that’s not the case.”

The 50-year-old went on to reveal he was sexually assaulted by a man, after being “knocked unconscious” in the back of a van when he was a teenager.

“I was molested by a man when I was 18 while knocked unconscious in the back of a van,” he wrote.

Despite the traumatic incidents, Matthew said: “I’ve never felt like a victim. I have a lot of proof that the world is conspiring to make me happy.”

This is the first time Matthew has publicly spoken out about the sexual assault.

The actor, who shares three kids with his wife Camila Alves, will chat about his new memoir on this Friday’s Late Late Show.

Matthew’s book has been described as an “unconventional memoir filled with raucous stories, outlaw wisdom, and lessons learned the hard way about living with greater satisfaction.”
