Matt Damon and his wife spotted at family-run café in Dalkey

Matt Damon and his wife Luciana Barroso have been spotted at a family-run café in Dalkey.

The Hollywood actor has been in Ireland filming new Ridley Scott movie The Last Duel, alongside Jodie Comer and Ben Affleck.

According to reports the 50-year-old moved into a lavish home in Killiney alongside his wife and children back in August, after previously quarantining in Dalkey at the beginning of the pandemic.

RTÉ’s legal affairs correspondent Órla O’Donnell took to Twitter today after spotting the star at local coffee shop Country Bake, explaining the hilarious encounter.

This picture of Matt Damon went viral during his stay in Dalkey

Órla wrote: “Queuing outside local coffee shop this morning, getting annoyed the couple inside were taking a LONG time to order and having cheery chats with the staff.

“Gave them evil eye and thought murderous thoughts as they left, to discover it was MATT DAMON and his wife.

“I wasted my one and only Matt Damon in Dalkey encounter by thinking grumpy thoughts. The staff said he is as lovely as everyone says and is always friendly and chatty to them!

“And they were probably thinking how nice everyone in Ireland is, except that grumpy one outside the coffee shop,” she added.

Country Bake recently celebrated 25 years of business, serving up a selection of freshly baked goods to the locals of the area.

Matt made headlines all over the world, after being spotted out and about in the seaside town during lockdown.

A photo of the actor holding a SuperValu bag (apparently with his togs in it), went viral and even made the New York Times.
