Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux have split after two and a half years of marriage.
The couple, who have been together for seven years, released a statement in which they said their split was “mutual and lovingly made at the end of last year.”
According to AP, Jennifer’s longtime publicist Stephen Huvane released a statement which read, “Normally we would do this privately, but given that the gossip industry cannot resist an opportunity to speculate and invent, we wanted to convey the truth directly.
“Whatever else is printed about us that is not directly from us, is someone else’s fictional narrative. Above all, we are determined to maintain the deep respect and love that we have for one another.”
The news comes just days after the Jennifer’s 49th birthday, which she and Justin noticeably spent apart.
Jen celebrated her birthday in Malibu, California alongside pals Courteney Cox, Andrea Bendewald, Leigh Kilton-Smith and Kristin Hahn on Sunday.
Jen and Justin first met on the Hawaii set of 2008’s Tropic Thunder, and later started dating in 2011.
The couple married in a surprise and secret ceremony on August 5, 2015.
Jennifer was previously married to Brad Pitt from 2000 to 2005, and Brad moved on with Angelina Jolie – who he has since split from.
