Ireland’s Got Talent judge announced as the 9th Strictly Come Dancing 2019 contestant

Ireland’s Got Talent judge Michelle Visage has been confirmed as the 9th contestant to be announced for the 2019 season of Strictly Come Dancing.

Michelle is best known for her role as a judge on RuPaul’s Drag Race, as well as her 2017 stint on Celebrity Big Brother.

Making the announcement on Lorraine This Morning, Michelle shared that starring on Strictly was “a dream.”

“Getting to do Strictly in my favourite place on Earth is an actual DREAM!” she exclaimed.

“I’m so excited to show that being 50 doesn’t mean life stops.”

“Things may not work like they did when I was 20, but 50 also means FABULOUS!”

The news comes after it was announced that Ireland’s Got Talent is no more, with the show being cancelled due”to a combination of logistical and scheduling reasons.”

A number of other celebs and personalities have been confirmed for the Strictly series.

Comedian Chris Ramsey, EastEnders star Emma Barton, YouTuber Saffron Barker, and actress Catherine Tyldesley have all been confirmed for the line up.

BBC Breakfast’s Mike Bushell and CBBC star Karim Zeroual are also in this year’s line-up, along with chef Emma Weymouth and footballer David James.
