Giovanni Pernice was reportedly on a celebrity dating app before his split from Maura Higgins.
The Italian dancer split from his Irish Love Island star girlfriend last week, just months after they confirmed their romance.
According to The Sun, the Strictly Come Dancing pro was active on the app Raya on October 5, three days after Maura posted a loved-up snap with him to Instagram.
A source told the publication: “Giovanni’s profile was on Raya while he was still very much with Maura. It does not state he is just looking for friendship.”
“It is clearly for dates and it will be another blow to Maura. Gio said he wasn’t actively using the app but it only takes two seconds to delete.”
“No woman in their right mind would be happy if their other half had a phone full of dating apps.”
A spokesperson for Giovanni said: “Giovanni became a member of Raya years ago and his original profile remained on the site. He categorically was not using it whilst in a relationship.”
It comes after an insider told the outlet that Maura is “absolutely devastated” by the split.
They said: “It’s all over for now. Maura’s absolutely devastated, it appears the Strictly curse has struck again.”
“Pals are hoping that they can patch things up. But only time will tell whether they’ll work things out as Giovanni is so busy.”
“He’s been focusing on Strictly, training his celeb partner Rose 24/7, and they’ve become really good friends. He’s even been learning sign language from Rose, showing it off on social media. Maura’s decided to take a step back and let him concentrate on the show.”
