Adele has revealed that a track on her upcoming album features a voicemail she left for a friend as she suffered an anxiety attack.
The singer wrote the song about her nine-year-old son Angelo, who she shares with her ex-husband Simon Konecki.
Speaking to Australian radio station Carrie & Tommy, the 33-year-old said: “It’s at the end, in the outro. I was having an anxiety attack and I called my best friend to try to talk to her to calm me down but she didn’t bloody answer.”
The songstress explained that the track is about putting on a “brave face” for her son Anglo amid her divorce from his father.
The couple announced that they were separating in April 2019, and Adele officially filed for divorce in September of that year.
Adele said she hopes the song will give her son a better understanding of why his parents needed to split up.

She said: “So often mum is mum and dad is dad, and who they are outside that role is never really discussed in childhood.”
“And when he does get older he will understand, because life is going to hit him as well, of what I was going through.”
Adele’s highly anticipated album ’30’ will drop on November 19.
