The world’s first Margarita Margherita pizza is coming to Dublin

The world’s first Margarita Margherita pizza is coming to Dublin, just in time for National Margarita Day on Monday, February 22nd.

The world’s oldest tequila, Jose Cuervo, has teamed up with leading food economists to develop a unique crossover meal that combines the ingredients of a Margherita pizza and the iconic tequila-based cocktail.

With lockdown seeing millions turn to takeaways and deliveries, Jose Cuervo hopes its Margarita Margherita will become the ‘pizza de resistance’ of lockdown meals for fans of bread, cheese, tomato and Mexican cocktails.

In collaboration with Jose Cuervo, vendors and restaurants (based in Dublin 12, Dublin 6W, Dublin 6, Dublin 8 & Dublin 14) will freshly make and deliver the Margarita Margherita pizza to homes across Dublin on National Margarita Day (Feb 22).

Fancy trying it out? The pizza is available to pre-order right HERE.

The recipe includes:

  • A pizza dough fermented in Jose Cuervo tequila for over 24-hours
  • A tomato sauce marinated in triple sec, salt, garlic and Jose Cuervo tequila
  • A topping of Buffalo mozzarella, fresh basil leaves and grated parmesan
  • A garnish of sea salt and fresh lime

Every purchase of the €10 pizza will also come with a complimentary Margarita cocktail, which combines the traditional sweet and savoury flavours of a traditional Margarita with toppings found in a traditional Margherita pizza.

T&C’s: Winners need to be in Dublin 12, Dublin 6W, Dublin 6, Dublin 8, Dublin 14 for delivery. Collection is also available from The Halfway House in Walkinstown.
