Fun Ways To Celebrate Easter At Home This Weekend

These activities will definitely brighten up your weekend

With Easter coming up this weekend, it can be hard to find exciting things to do during the social distancing period.

But being stuck at home doesn’t have to be boring, as there’s tonnes of things to do to keep yourself (and the kids!) entertained.

With that being said, we’ve listed several fun ways to celebrate Easter at home this year, to make it a weekend to remember.

Let’s hop to it, shall we?

Baking

There is no better way to pass the time than baking.

It seems like everyone is getting into the baking spirit during the self-isolation period, and Easter should be no different.

From carrot cake to flowerpot cupcakes, there are so many recipes to choose from.

We particularly love these bunny cupcakes (pictured above), and they’re super easy to make.

You can check out the recipe right here.

Easter Egg Hunt

We’re being encouraged to stay away from public places this weekend, but children (and adults!) can still enjoy an Easter Egg Hunt in the comfort of their own home.

To make it extra creative, leave mysterious clues and riddles around the house for the family to solve.

Let the hunting begin!

Arts and Crafts

Instagram

A great way to keep kids entertained this weekend is painting some eggs for decoration.

All you need are a batch of eggs and some different colours of paint, and you are good to go.

The video below shows how to easily ‘drain’ the eggs first before you get painting.

If you can’t get your hands on eggs (or don’t want to waste them) try out some other arts and crafts projects.

The video below shows how you can make a super cute Easter bunny out of a simple toilet paper roll. Such a cute idea!

Host A Virtual Game Night

Instagram

A lot of us are spending time apart from family and friends this weekend, but that doesn’t mean we can’t celebrate with them.

Thanks to apps such as Zoom and Google Hangouts, we can still share special moments with one another, and host virtual game nights!

Whether you take part in a quiz, or challenge friends and family to a game of virtual charades/pictionary – this will guarantee some laughs this weekend.

Get Active!

Instagram

It’s important to stay active during these unusual times, but it’s absolutely essential we respect social distancing rules too.

Easter Sunday is set to be a warm 17 degrees, so why not go for a walk around your local area?

If you plan on doing so, make sure you stay within 2km of your home, and stay 2 metres away from people that you might come across.

If you’re looking for something to do while staying indoors, why not try a fun-filled online Zumba class.

These lively dance classes take the “work” out of work-out.

Movie Night

Tumblr

Having to stay at home gives us the perfect excuse to snuggle up on the couch and watch movies – and that’s exactly what we’re going to do.

This weekend is a great time to try out Disney’s new streaming service Disney+, which has a tonne of amazing movies to watch – including Pixar and Marvel films.

You can get a 7-day free trial if you sign up now, and we highly recommend watching Tim Burton’s Alice In Wonderland – for the weekend that’s in it!

Easter Date Night

Before dinner was served on a very successful date night last night ???? Honestly, I can’t recommend getting dressed up and having a date in our own home enough, I genuinely feel like I was out last night… totally switched off from the world ???? We had so much fun, played a playlist of all our favorite music and made sure the TV was out of bounds ❌ So if you’re sad that you can’t go out this Easter weekend, bring the party to you ???? Have a date night, Zoom your girlfriends and all get glammed up, treat your housemate to a night in ???? And the rules are, you must go all out like you would for a regular night out, no slippers allowed ???????????? #StayHome #HomeDateNight #MakeMemories #StaySafe

Why not take a leaf out of Rosie Connolly’s book and have a date night at home with your partner this weekend?

Get all dressed up as if you were going to a restaurant, open a bottle of wine, and order your favourite takeaway if you can.

Like Rosie said, “bring the party to you” this weekend.
