The young woman whose family claims R. Kelly is holding her in a “cult” has spoken out.
Jocelyn Savage, 21, spoke to TMZ via video chat – and insisted that she’s happy and “not being held hostage” and “not being brainwashed”.
On Monday, Jocelyn’s father, mother and sister held a news conference to accuse Kelly of holding Joycelyn and other women in a “cult”.
Although Jocelyn claims she’s happy and that she still speaks to her parents from time to time, she seems to avoid questions about where she’s living and who she’s living with.
Kelly has denied the shocking accusations, and suggested that he might take legal action against the Savage family.
Joycelyn’s father, Timothy, believes his daughter is experiencing Stockholm Syndrome.
The news broke after a report by Buzzfeed claimed that the singer is running a “cult”, in which six young women are living in homes rented by him while he allegedly controls their lives.
Cheryl Mack, Kitti Jones, and Asante McGee, who used to be in Kelly’s close circle, claim he is abusive towards the women and films sexual encounters with them that he shows them to his male friends.

The Ignition hit-maker allegedly confiscates the girls’ phones, controls what they eat, how they dress and when they leave their assigned rooms and demands they call him “Daddy”.
“You have to ask for food. You have to ask to go use the bathroom. … [Kelly] is a master at mind control. … He is a puppet master,” Mack, Kelly’s former personal assistant, said.
McGee added: “R. Kelly is the sweetest person you will ever want to meet. But Robert is the devil.”
And Jones shared: “I got trapped. I had people telling me I was an idiot. But it took me a long time to realize they were right, and I’m talking now because I hope I can help some of these other girls.”

Kelly was allegedly illegally married to late singer Aaliyah when she was just 15. He was also charged with 14 counts of videotaping himself having sex with an underage girl, but found not guilty in 2007.
