Earlier this week, it was revealed that Kim Kardashian West was going to the White House to discuss prison reform with the US President Donald Trump.

The ‘KUWTK’ star met with Jared Kushner (Trump’s son-in-law), and Donald Trump himself, to discuss the pardoning of first time drug offender Alice Marie Johnson.

Kim has since opened up about what exactly went on during their meeting in an interview with Mic.

The mother of three revealed, “I think that he really spent the time to listen to our case that we were making for Alice… He really understood, and I am very hopeful that this will turn out really positively.”

Kim is evidently extremely passionate about the case, even though she has had no “personal experience” with the prison system.

She said, “It was just that simple connection… I don’t have a personal experience with prison myself, but I believe in family, and her family was torn apart by choices that she made 21 and a half years ago.”

Speaking about Ms Johnson, Kim believes if she is released that she will successfully enter back into society, saying, “She has a job waiting for her… She has a home to go to, and she has such a great supportive family.”

Alice Marie Johnson is currently serving a life sentence without parole, after being convicted of drug-related charges in 1997.

An online petition to grant clemency to Alice, which was started by her daughter, currently has over 250,000 signatures.
