WATCH: Brendan Gleeson squares off with Carey Mulligan in new Suffragette clip

Brendan Gleeson has showcased his renowned acting ability in a newly released clip from his flick Suffragette.

The flame-haired actor plays anti-terrorism policeman Steed in the movie which is set to open the London Film Festival.

Set halfway through the film, the clip shows Carey Mulligan as young suffragette Maud Watts facing off with the Malahide native’s character after her arrest.

The film which tells the true story of the British suffrage movement from the turn of the 20th century is directed by Brick Lane movie maker Sarah Gavron.

The Guard actor stars alongside Helena Bonham Carter and Oscar winner Meryl Streep in the historical flick.

The highly-anticipated film is already receiving critical acclaim and is set to hit cinemas on October 12th.
