Watch: Anchorman's Paul Rudd says Ireland is 'best place on earth'

Anchorman star Paul Rudd has said that Ireland is the “best place on earth”.

The Hollywood actor also revealed that he almost got in a fight with Irish soccer player Seamus Coleman’s dad in a Donegal pub.

He said: “First of all, Ireland is the best place on Earth. It is hands down the greatest country, it’s the best place.”

And Paul told David Letterman’s chat show that the fight nearly happened when on a stag party with friends – and decided to wear an Irish football jersey.

He said: “We were in a little fishing village called Killybegs in Donegal, and I go out to the car, put on my jersey, come back in, and everyone there just immediately starts teasing me.”

And he was told by the Everton player’s father: “Only one person wears number two in this town: My son,” before replying: “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to be disrespectful.”

But Rudd admitted: “I was ready to go. I had Guinness strength.” However it turned out it was a prank set up by a local garda.
