Rob Kearney says he has NO interest in jewellery – as he becomes the face of Newbridge Silverware

Rob Kearney has revealed he has no interest in jewellery – despite being the new face of Newbridge Silverware.

The Ireland player admitted that although he’s not into jewellery himself, he’ll be giving all his free merchandise to the women in his life.

“I’m delighted to be teaming up with them,” Rob said.

“What I like mostly is that they’re an Irish brand, it’s good to be support your own and launching this new Guinness collaboration is an exciting time and a really good campaign.

Not for me: Rob admitted jewellery isn’t his thing

“I wouldn’t be much of a jewellery man myself but my mother and my sister will certainly be getting a few of the nice jewellery that gets sent my way. There’ll Newbridge silverware under the Christmas tree.”

Rob also admitted he was nervous about breaking the news to former Newbrdge ambassador Ronan O’Gara that he had landed the campaign.

“I did see him last week and I was a bit nervous about telling him your time is up. He took it well though, to be fair,” Rob told The Nicky Byrne Show on 2fm.

Meanwhile, Rob also opened up about big plans the silverware line has coming up in the future.

“They’re going to try and break into the US with them which will be a massive scoop for them. It’s more just trying to get it off the ground and seeing how successful it becomes.”

The Dublin native also revealed that he is lucky to get on so well with younger brother and fellow rugby player Dave, as the two lads spend almost all their time together.

“It’s perfect, he’s pretty chilled, we get on well which is important because we work together, we live together, we get our days off together. he’s a good housemate, I wont be kicking him out just yet.”
