Matt LeBlanc lands €2.3 mill deal to continue hosting Top Gear

Matt LeBlanc has landed a €2.3million deal to continue hosting Top Gear, after Chris Evans quit the show.

The actor was signed on to the new series of the show with the radio host, but reportedly threatened to leave the show if Chris was kept on.

However, now that Chris has left – the BBC have been pulling out all the stops to keep the Friends star on.

“Losing Matt because of a few diary arrangements would have spun Top Gear into crisis yet again,” a source revealed.

BBC reportedly made the move to secure Matt on Top Gear after the broadcaster lost their hit show The Great British Bake Off to rival Channel 4.

“In the end they just wanted to sign up Matt as he’s great with the fans and gives the show stability as it’s due to start filming within days,” they told The Sun.

Filming for the new series is set to begin soon and will hit the small screen again in 2017.
