The Golden Globe nominations list will be revealed later today and all eyes are on Carlow native Saoirse Ronan.
The Lady Bird star has been twice nominated for a Golden Globe, once for Brooklyn in 2016 and once for Atonement in 2008.
Lady Bird has already been shortlisted for the upcoming Critics’ Choice and Independent Spirit Awards.
Other Irish actors hopeful for a nomination include three-time nominee Brendan Gleeson for his performance in Mr Mercedes and Barry Keoghan for his role in The Killing of a Sacred Deer.
The Breadwinner, an animated movie produced by by Oscar winner Angelina Jolie and created by Kilkenny’s Cartoon Saloon is also another nomination hopeful.
The Golden Globes will take place at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in California on Sunday January 7th, 2018.
