Ed Sheeran has returned to social media, exactly one year after he announced that he was taking some time off.
However, the singer has returned to Facebook, Twitter and Instagram in the weirdest way possible – by simply posting an image of the colour blue, with no explanation at all.
While the 25-year-old has made a few appearances at charity gigs, and at a wedding with Johnny McDaid, he has remained fairly off the radar ever since he announced that he was taking a break from the limelight.
The colour blue is clearly related to his much-anticipated third album – which he promised fans when he announced that he was taking some time off.

On this exact date last year, the singer posted a statement on his Instagram that read, “To my family and friends, if you love me you will understand me buggering off for a bit.”
“To my fans, the 3rd album is on its way and is the best thing I have made thus far. See you all next autumn, and thank you for being amazing,” he wrote.
