Drake admits he’s been in love with Rihanna for SEVEN years

Drake has admitted he has been in love with Rihanna since he was 22-years-old.

The singer has worked with the Barbados beauty on multiple tracks – including Take Care, What’s My Name and most recently Work.

“She’s someone I’ve been in love with since I was 22 years old,” he said on stage.

The 29-year-old presented the Sledgehammer singer with the Video Vanguard Award at MTV’s VMAs.

The award is also known as Lifetime Achievement Award given to musicians who have made a profound effect on the MTV culture, honouring an artist’s body of work.

Drake’s pal Kanye West was also at the awards ceremony, and made a hilarious, but powerful, speech when talking about the video for his controversial song, Famous.

“I am Kanye West and that feels really great to say especially this year,” the musician told the crowd.

“Later tonight Famous might lose to Beyonce – But, I can’t be mad, because I’m always wishing for Beyonce to win!

“But for people to understand, just how blessed we are, it was an expression of our now, our fame right now, us on the inside of the TV. The audacity to put Anna Winter right next to Donald Trump.

“I put Ray J in it bro! This is fame, bro.”

The father-of-two went on to more serious topics when he started talking about meeting one kid at the Art Institute of Chicago.

“I was speaking at the Art Institute last year and one kid came up to me and he said ‘three of my friends died and I don’t know if I’m gonna be the next,'” he recalled.

“You have to think, like you know when you’re a senior and it’s the last month and you just don’t feel like doing anymore work?

“If you feel like you’re seeing people dying right next to you you might feel like what’s the point. Life could start to feel worthless.”
