Britney Spears came under fire last week for appearing to lip sync during her Carpool Karaoke with James Corden, and now she’s gone and done it at the VMAs.
The famed pop star took to the MTV Video Music Awards stage for the first time in nine years, and while she gave a great performance of her new tune Make Me – Britney failed to impress fans.
First of all, having to take the stage after Beyoncé’s incredible performance is a challenge in itself – but people have since slammed her lack lustre performance.
The New York Post wrote, “She lip-synced, she had zero chemistry with rapper G Eazy and her dance routine was straight out of her Las Vegas residency”.
Although a lot of people weren’t impressed with Britney’s return to the VMA stage – everyone seems pretty glad that she’s back and looking better than ever.
See how Twitter reacted to Britney’s performance below:
“Will it be remembered as her greatest VMA performance of all time? Probably not. But damn, it’s good to see Britney smiling again.” – MTV

This is the longest Britney has ever been forced to watch a VMA and I’m sure she’ll never return after this mess

I just don’t feel like Britney needs to prove herself and do the VMA’S .. I think Vegas is perfect for her
