X Factor‘s Scarlett Lee was rushed to hospital following a fire in her brother’s caravan.
The singer’s brother, Benjamin, his wife and four children were all in their home when it suddenly went up in flames during the week.
Scarlett was reportedly in the caravan next to her brother and tried to help her family, but got burnt by hot embers and was rushed to hospital.
The 21-year-old released a statement about the incident on Instagram, in which she said: “Things like this has (sic) happened all over a plug in the wall.”
The X Factor contestant told fans that she had to have a small procedure on her eye, but that it’s “getting better slowly.”
Scarlett then compared the fire to something “from a horror movie” and told fans that it was the most terrifying moment of her life.
Scarlett thanked her mentor, Simon Cowell, and voice coach, Anni, who contacted her to make sure everything was okay after the incident.
“I have a show to smash on Saturday I have public to please a family & a mentor to do proud!” she told fans, confirming that she will take part in the live show at the weekend.
