X Factor star Lucy Spraggan is undergoing fertility treatment in the hopes of having a child with wife Georgina Gordon.
The couple have already fostered 12 children, ranging from babies to teens, which the singer called “good practice” for their future family.
The couple felt compelled to foster after seeing a news report on children in care. They discovered that their local fostering center had 250 children waiting for homes, and began caring for as many children as they could.
She told The Mirror: “We knew straight away we were going to apply to become carers.”
“Babies were an eye-opener too. We had two stay with us for three weeks. The sleepless nights were a shock. We took a baby each, both did the nappy changing and the night feeds and got stuck in.”
“We’re having fertility treatment ourselves, so it’s all good practice.”
Lucy and her wife have been married for three years.
The couple hope to raise awareness about fostering, by sharing their story.
