Wayne and Coleen Rooney allegedly attended Donald Trump’s ‘White Christmas Party’ as guests of honour.
It has been reported that President Trump personally invited the couple, along with their four sons, to the event.
Earlier this Wayne moved to Washington with his family to play for DC United and although the family has been living a low key life stateside, they felt that they couldn’t refuse the president’s invite.
“Coleen and Wayne were stunned when they received a personal invite from Donald inviting them to the White House,” a source told The Sun.
“It wasn’t political. For them this was a chance to go inside one of the most iconic buildings in the world and give their children this experience of being there for the Christmas party, which is always spectacular.”
The source added that the couple: “were also given a guided tour of President’s Trump’s private rooms but the oval office was off limits.”
It has been reported that Donald Trump’s son, Barron, previously played for the DC United Youth team, which is why the president invited the Rooney family.
“Wayne is a huge name on DC United’s team so obviously Donald invited them because of his son Barron and how much he loves the team.”
