WATCH: Sam Bird and Georgia Steel make their relationship official on Good Morning Britain

The former Islanders cozied up on the morning show

Former Love Island contestants, Georgie Steel and Sam Bird, have made their relationship official on Good Morning Britain.

The pair went on the show to discuss their experiences in the villa this morning, and Sam finally asked Georgia to be his girlfriend.

The couple walked from the villa last week in order to stay together, and when asked if it was the right decision to leave the £50,000 cash prize behind, the two unanimously agreed.

“100%. If we didn’t do that, then we would have been going against everything that we did in that villa,” Georgia replied.

The stars were then asked, “Well, have you made it official then?”

Sam then turned to Georgia, and told her that he wanted to ask her something.

“We’ve been through a lot,” he said, “And obviously we are going to be living together, so I want to know if you’ll be my girlfriend?”

“Of course,” replied Georgia as she began to get emotional.

The pair defended their decision to move in together so early in their relationship on the grounds that they wanted to do whatever they could to make it work.

They said they recognized that their lives had become much busier since leaving the villa, and wanted to ensure they could see each other at the end of the day.

“It doesn’t matter what we’re doing during the day as long as we’re going back home to each other,” Georgia said.
