Piers Morgan apologised to Danny Dyer for calling his Love Island star daughter “brain dead”.

The 42-year-old actor was a guest on the first episode of Good Evening Britain, which is hosted by Piers and co-presenter Susannah Reid.

Piers notoriously loathes Love Island and frequently bashes the show, but he seemed to have a change of opinion when Dani Dyer’s father appeared on the show.

Introducing his guest, the presenter remarked, “Danny, before we go any further, you may have been led to believe from social media that I’ve spent the last three weeks calling every contestant on Love Island a ‘bunch of brain dead zombies.’

“I’d like to clarify that obviously doesn’t include anyone in the villa who is called Dani Dyer, which I believe is your daughter… There’s been a terrible misunderstanding.”

The 53-year-old tried to win over the actor by praising his daughter, saying “She is obviously a shining oasis of intelligence and beauty and grace. I’m sorry. I’m sorry about any misunderstanding that may have arisen.”

Clearly unimpressed, Danny responded by saying, “Just stop talking Piers. You’re just talking and rambling on.”

Speaking about his daughter being on Love Island, the father-of-three admitted, “I didn’t want her to do it. I’d never seen it before. You fear as a father, but it’s entertainment.”

However, Danny made it clear that he’s proud of his daughter, “She hasn’t put a foot wrong. Me and my wife are like parents of the year.”

“What she has done is she has proved that you can be a decent girl with self-respect and not be rolling around under the bed sheets. I think they have to tick certain boxes and she has spun it on her head.”

The actor also joked about ‘strangling’ Dani’s partner Jack Fincham if he beds his daughter on the show.

After Danny’s interview aired, viewers praised the Eastenders star on social media.
