Michelle Keegan has taken to social media to urge women to get their smear tests.
The former Coronation Street admitted she “dreaded” going in for her test, but realised just recently how important it is for women to get checked, as it easily spots early signs of cervical cancer.
“I’m going to be honest with you all, I’ve had numerous letters come through my front door that I’ve pushed aside. I’ve also ignored my mums tiresome pleas telling me to book an appointment with my local GP,” she captioned her videos on Instagram.
“However I finally got my finger out, (pardon the pun) and went to my appointment. My doctor was so lovely, I hopped onto the bed and it was over in less than 2 MINUTES!!! It was a tad uncomfortable but no means painful,” she added.
Mark Wright’s wife earned huge praise online for sharing her story, with many hoping her videos will help get women into their local clinics.
