Emma Thompson has revealed that Prince William accidentally jabbed her in the breast with a pin, when she was made a dame.
The actress was appointed a Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire at Buckingham Palace in November – but her pinning ceremony didn’t go according to plan.
During her appearance on The Ellen Show, the 59-year-old said she “made a loud and inappropriate noise” when the Duke of Cambridge accidentally poked her while fixing the medals on to her blazer.
She said: “It’s a little bit of a nipple moment and you go, ‘Gosh, I wasn’t expecting that,'” before adding, “And then he pinned another one underneath. I’m pretty low slung these days, so both times it hurt!”
“I made a very loud and inappropriate noise in Buckingham Palace. It’s not a surprise, is it?” she laughed.
