Billy Connolly says he’s ‘not dying’ and apologises to fans about saying he’s ‘slipping away’

Billy Connolly said that he’s “not dying” and apologised to fans for saying that he’s “slipping away”.

The comedian concerned fans in a recent BBC documentary, Billy Connolly: Made In Scotland, as he said that he was “near the end” and could see himself “slipping away.”

Following the outpour of concern and support from fans, the 76-year-old took to Twitter to assure his following that he is “not dying.”

Billy’s wife, Pamela, shared a video of the comedian playing a banjo, as he said: “Not dying, not dead, not slipping away.”

“Sorry if I depressed you. Maybe I should have phrased it better,” he added, as Pamela laughed in the background.

The father-of-five was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2013 and spoke openly about his life and future in his recent BBC documentary: “I’m 75, I’m near the end. I’m a damn sight nearer the end than I am the beginning. But it doesn’t frighten me, it’s an adventure and it is quite interesting to see myself slipping away.”
