Vanessa Kirby has revealed that Queen Elizabeth II is a fan of The Crown.
The actress, who played Princess Margaret in the first two seasons of the hit Netflix drama, has confessed that her friend was at a party with Queen Elizabeth’s granddaughter Princess Beatrice when The Crown came up in conversation.
In an interview with The Guardian, Vanessa said that her friend heard people discussing the show, and he said, “I know someone in that.”
Vanessa continued, “Meanwhile, this girl says: ‘Well my granny likes it,’ and he suddenly realises her granny is the Queen. It was Princess Beatrice.”
The news comes after the actress’ role as Princess Margaret was taken over by Helena Bonham Carter.
Speaking about saying goodbye to her character, Vanessa confessed, “Saying goodbye to it was awful, I really grieved it, actually.”
The third season of the show is currently in production, and Olivia Colman has taken over Claire Foy’s role as the Queen.
