The Saturdays’ Mollie King ‘writes children’s book’

The Saturdays’ Mollie King has reportedly written her first children’s book, inspired by her dog, Alfie.

The singer has been kept busy since The Saturdays split in 2014, as she started a new presenting role on BBC Radio 1 and has now reportedly taken up another career.

“Mollie’s been juggling her Radio 1 presenting job with writing her first book and it’s already looking like it will be a hit,” a source told The Sun.

“She adores her pooch Alfie and wanted to use him to help children understand insecurities and how to overcome them,” they added.

The source also revealed that Mollie’s book has already been a hit with publishers: “After appearing on Strictly and bagging her job on Radio 1, Mollie has become a really respected name so her book caused a frenzy when it was sent out to publishers.”

“She’s now in the middle of a bidding war.”

The singer is following in the footsteps of former bandmate, Rochelle Humes who penned her own children’s book last month
