The Inbetweeners star James Buckley responds to reunion backlash

The Inbetweeners star, James Buckley, responded to fans after the cast received backlash over the show’s reunion.

Many fans were left disappointed on New Year’s Day when the highly-anticipated Inbetweeners one-hour special aired, as they were expecting a brand new episode of the comedy show.

Instead, fans watched a reunion chat show called Fwends Reunited with the four main cast-members and host, Jimmy Carr.

The one-off special received a huge amount of negative attention, as fans were disappointed that the cast just looked back at the best moments from the show and were interviewed by the host.

James, who played Jay in the comedy, has since taken to Twitter to apologise to fans, as he wrote: “Feeling pretty hated right now. Im sorry to anyone who feels let down with last nights show.”

“Im especially upset as it really is the fans that made the inbetweeners a success, it certainly wasnt me. (sic) I might do an explanation video on my YT, or might just leave it & move on #sorry”.

Meanwhile, the actor’s former cast-mate, Blake Harrison, who played the part of Neil, decided to make light of the situation and tweeted: “So, 2019 off to a good start.”

The actors weren’t the only ones to respond to the backlash, as an alleged sound engineer on Twitter also commented on the criticism and told a fan: “I’m very careful about what I say on here, but it was a bit of a long slow struggle. But some shows are like that, and the edit saves them.”
