The Inbetweeners actor James Buckley says he ‘struggled mentally’ with highly-criticised reunion

The Inbetweeners actor, James Buckley, said that he “struggled mentally” with the show’s highly-criticised reunion, The Inbetweeners: Fwends Reunited.

The 31-year-old took to Twitter shortly after the reunion aired at the start of January and apologised to any fans who were disappointed in the show.

The actor has taken to the social media platform once again to tell fans that he “lost a lot of sleep and struggled mentally” with the reunion.

Yesterday James hit out at a journalist for “twisting” his words from his recent podcast, Completed It Mate, in which he spoke about the reunion and said that he came across “as a complete moron through the whole thing.”

The actor went on to respond to a fan who said: “Don’t bite mate, it’s all tosh. Head up and move on”.

“It’s not an attack on anyone. I’d like to discuss it. I just don’t want to be misquoted and made out as if I said something I didn’t,” James tweeted.

“I’ve already lost a lot of sleep and struggled mentally with the reunion, and this sort of thing really affects me.”

The 31-year-old continued to respond to followers and tweeted: “It just is personal to me. I know no one really cares, and everyone else has moved on. But I find it difficult when I can’t say to myself that I’d done my best. I don’t think I did. Hopefully when white gold is back on tv I can go back to making people smile.”

“Jimmy worked with what he had. If he had a better guest in me it could have been better,” the actor added, after he previously said that he couldn’t keep up with the comedian during the programme.

James isn’t the only The Inbetweeners actor to speak out about the reunion as his co-star, Blake Harrison, joked about the backlash at the time and tweeted: “So, 2019 off to a good start.”
