The Bodyguard producer ‘confirms’ Richard Madden could be the next James Bond

One of the producers of The Bodyguard has ‘confirmed’ that Richard Madden could be the next James Bond.

The news comes after months of speculation, but it has now been revealed that producers aren’t confident that the actor will return for another season of The Bodyguard, due to potential commitments for the upcoming James Bond film.

A producer told the MailOnline: “We don’t know if Richard will do series two.”

“‘It depends what happens with James Bond, we don’t know yet,” he added.

Richard previously spoke to GQ Magazine about the role and said that it was a “brilliant thing”, but didn’t want to say too much about it as he didn’t want to “curse it.”

The news comes after Idris Elba, who has also been rumoured to be taking over the iconic role, dropped more hints about becoming the next James Bond at the Golden Globe Awards.

The actor posed for a picture with Daniel Craig and captioned it: “Awks…..”
