Serena Williams gets emotional as she misses daughter’s first steps due to Wimbledon

Serena Williams missed her daughter’s first steps due to Wimbledon training and she’s understandably upset about it.

The tennis champion took to Twitter to tell fans that she shed tears when she found out she missed her daughter’s first steps.

“She took her first steps… I was training and missed it. I cried,” the 36-year-old tweeted.

The first time mum hasn’t had it easy having nearly died in labour last September when she was forced to undergo an emergency cesarean.

During labour she also had to have surgery to prevent blood clots from travelling to her lungs.

She told Harper’s Bazaar about the ordeal saying, “One minute, everything’s going according to plan, and then I’m being wheeled off for surgery.”

“I was terrified, and it was a whole new kind of fear.”
