Ewan McGregor divorce proceedings with estranged wife Eve Marakis have begun.
The pair got married in 1995 and separated in May of last year.
In October the Scottish actor was spotted kissing Mary Elizabeth Winstead, who he starred alongside in Fargo, before it had been publicly announced that his marriage was over.
It was revealed that the actor cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the divorce.
According to TMZ the 46-year-old is seeking joint custody of their three underage children and Eve will be fighting for full custody but allowing him visitation rights.
He thanked both his wife and girlfriend in a bizarre acceptance speech after winning Best Actor for his role in Fargo. Mary is his girlfriend both in the show and off screen.
“No I did not like the speech” Eve told the Daily Mail after she was thanked in it for 22 years of marriage and four children. McGregor attended the Golden Globes with Mary who is 20 years younger than his estranged wife.
