The Queen may not be allowed attend the royal wedding of her grandson Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

The pair announced their engagement earlier this week, and are due to get married in May 2018 – but the Queen may not be attendance.

Due to the fact that Meghan is a divorcee, this may prohibit the Queen from attending the ceremony, according to reports.

Meghan was married to Trevor Engelson in 2011, but due to “irreconcilable differences” the couple divorced in 2013.

In 2006, the Queen didn’t attend her son Prince Charles’ wedding to Camilla Parker Bowles.

A royal source reportedly told The Mirror that The Queen said she was “putting her duties as the head of the Church of England before family feelings” just before the wedding.

Though the Church of England approved the remarriage of divorcees in 200, the Queen is reportedly still taking a step back.
