Professor Green admits Millie Mackintosh divorce was ‘expensive but worth it’

The rapper got candid in a new interview

Professor Green has opened up about his divorce from Millie Mackintosh.

The pair were married for three years, before their relationship came to an end in 2016.

Their divorce took just 30 seconds in a London court, with the couple citing “unreasonable behaviour”, and the rapper has since described the process as “expensive but worth it” during a recent interview with John Bishop.

Professor Green, who’s real name is Stephen Manderson, went on to say that the couple’s high-profile status was an issue in their relationship.

He revealed, “It took away from all of my work and I really didn’t like that and it became quite a toxic relationship to be fair.”

Taking a pop at his ex-wife, the 34-year-old continued, “I’ve got a very large mortgage now… but you know what they say about divorce – its expensive, You know why? Cos it’s worth it!”

The musician also claimed that she used his success for her own gain, by saying, “I was at that point of my career and it catapulted her into a position she wouldn’t have otherwise been in, but she fed off that.”

He continued, “We all seek validation, but she started looking for it in the wrong places.”

The rapper also didn’t mix well with Millie’s friends, some of whom starred alongside her in E4’s posh reality series Made in Chelsea.

“I never really mixed with her friends. I don’t like talking about her when she is not here because she can’t talk for herself, but in that world it’s so fake,” he said.

“A lot of [gossip] come out from people that she knew, that’s the only place it could have come from.”

Since splitting from Professor Green, Millie has become engaged to former Made in Chelsea star and boyfriend Hugo Taylor, and the pair are set to marry later this year.
