Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank’s engagement was confirmed by Buckingham Palace yesterday.

The 31-year-old entertainment manager popped the question during a trip to Nicaragua earlier this month.

Eugenie, who’s parents are the Duke and Duchess of York, will marry Jack at St George’s Chapel in Windsor later this year, the same venue where Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will exchange vows in May.

After their engagement announcement, Princess Eugenie and Jack appeared on BBC’s The One Show, and she revealed that Jack proposed to her by a lake.

“The lake was so beautiful, it was a special light and I even said ‘this is an incredible moment’ and then he popped the question, which was really surprising even though we had been together seven years,” she said.

“It was the perfect moment because we knew it was going to end up this way. I was over the moon, crying.”

The couple first met in Verbier in 2010, while Jack was on a skiing trip with friends.

Jack is the manager of Mayfair haunt Mahiki, while Eugenie works for an art auction house.

Eugenie recently moved into Ivy Cottage, a three-bedroom apartment in the grounds of Kensington Palace, where she is neighbours with her cousins Prince Harry and Prince William, William’s wife Kate, the couple’s children Prince George and Princess Charlotte and Harry’s soon-to-be wife Meghan Markle.

Jack was not expected to officially move in with Eugenie, but it’s likely that the couple will move in with each other ahead of their wedding.
