Prince Harry and Meghan Markle WILL spend Christmas Day with the Queen at Sandringham

Although the pair are not yet married - it seems they've made an exception for Meghan

Meghan Markle will join Prince Harry to spend Christmas Day with the Queen at Sandringham, despite the fact that the couple are unmarried.

According to the Daily Mail, a spokesperson for Kensington Palace confirmed the news, saying, “You can expect to see The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince Harry and Ms Markle at Sandringham on Christmas Day.”

Meghan’s invitation to Sandringham for Christmas represents a major break from tradition, as Prince William’s wife Kate Middleton was not invited to join the royals for Christmas in 2010, despite the fact that her engagement to William was announced a month before.

Meghan and Prince Harry, who got engaged on November 27, will join other royals when they attend the traditional Christmas Day church service on the Queen’s private estate in Norfolk.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will also join the family at Sandringham this year, after they spent Christmas Day with the Middletons in 2016.

Spending Christmas with the royal family at Sandringham is notoriously formal, with strict timetables set for all activities – including eating breakfast, walking the dogs, and even going to bed.
