Piers Morgan ends feud with Ant McPartlin after criticising his NTAs win for Best Presenter

Piers Morgan has ended his feud with Ant McPartlin, after he criticised the presenter’s NTAs win for Best Presenter.

Ant and Dec broke a world record when they took home the award for the eighteenth time in a row last month, but some people weren’t happy about their win.

Following the award ceremony Piers spoke about their controversial win on Good Morning Britain and said: “Walking the dog for a year, television personality of the year. Me? Coal face every morning, hours on end, week after week…nothing, not a dickie bird.”

It was later reported by The Mirror that Ant sent the 53-year-old an e-mail saying that “he takes his recovery very seriously and he didn’t appreciate Piers belittling it by saying all he has done is walk the dog.”

Piers has now revealed that there are no hard feelings between him and Ant, as he told the publication: “When the story came out he gave me a call and said ‘I want you to know there is no hard feelings my end, we are still pals.'”

“I said ‘Absolutely, mate. I don’t want to fall out over this. I was teasing really, and maybe over-egged it. Now we just move on’. We are still mates, it is fine.”

The GMB host added that he hasn’t changed his mind over Ant and Dec’s win: “I didn’t accept I had done anything particularly wrong, I think the point I was making was a valid one and I think a lot of people felt the same way.”

“But I definitely said, ‘I don’t want to hurt you or upset you.'”

“I wouldn’t, he’s a mate. He then calmed down. He’s just feeling the heat a bit because he is coming back on TV and it has been a very tricky time,” he continued.

Piers and his Good Morning Britain co-host, Susanna Reid are in Hollywood at the moment preparing to present an Oscars special on Monday.
